Rubicon is a rubber company.
We know compound: how to read it, refine it, blend it, and direct it to the application where it performs. For every material we take in, we develop the best solution, on our own equipment or with the processor best suited to it. No two streams are alike, so no program here is a template. That discipline is what lets us do three things well.
Material Processing & Disposition
We take in excess and off-spec compound and scrap streams from rubber manufacturers, large and small, and build the disposition program around the material, refining and blending where needed. Streams run on our own mills, extruders, and shredders, or go to trusted downstream processors: direct end-users whose business is turning this material into product, including international ones. Whichever serves the material best. Either way, every pound reaches a real, documented end-use. Nothing is landfilled. Nothing is misrepresented.
Compound Supply & Application Matching
We supply compound feedstock to molders. Matched to the application, not just moved. Each stream is characterized by durometer and rheology, so what arrives on your floor is consistent and runs the way you expect. Materials & Compounds
Contract Manufacturing
When you need a rubber product made, not just material supplied, we take on the job: produced to your specification, from your compound or material we supply. The same knowledge of how compound behaves in process backs every part we make.
How It Works
Reading the material is the whole job.
Compound doesn't fail QC for mysterious reasons. It fails for measurable ones: durometer, color, tensile, cure rate.
Uncured rubber is like dough: once it's heated, it can't go back. So the question isn't whether off-spec compound has value. It's whether someone knows how to read it.
Off-spec material varies pallet to pallet. We overcome that variability by blending, and we match the application to the quality. Compound with low pre-cure blends in at low percentages into higher-value products like conveyor belt. Compound with heavy pre-cure blends in at high percentages into products like mats and chocks. Every stream goes to its best economic use.
No single roof covers every material. The best home for a stream is sometimes our own equipment, sometimes a downstream processor built for exactly that material. Our job is knowing which, and proving it either way. We'd rather tell you exactly where your material goes than pretend otherwise.
